A Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader, her husband and her daughter were reportedly hacked to death in Cooch Behar district of West Bengal on Friday.
Neelima Barman, a panchayat-level leader of the party, her husband Bimal Barman, also an active member of TMC, and daughter Runa Barman were killed by miscreants using a sharp weapon, reports said.

Neelima Barman, a panchayat-level leader of the party, her husband Bimal Barman, also an active member of TMC, and daughter Runa Barman were attacked by some miscreants using a sharp weapon, reports said. Meanwhile, their younger daughter Iti Barman was injured and is currently under treatment.
According to a Hindustan Times report, the prime accused – Vibhuti Bhushan Roy – and his two associates entered the house and attacked the family members with sharp weapons. The incident happened around 4:40 AM, police said, as quoted in the report.
A police officer was quoted in the report saying preliminary investigation points to a love affair gone wrong. He also denied any political connection adding that all aspects were being probed.
An investigation is underway to ascertain the cause behind the attack.
