Uttar Pradesh Government Makes 44,000 Roads Pothole-Free In Current Fiscal Year

The engineers who fail to meet expected progress targets are promptly replaced to ensure swift and efficient progress. The state has set an ambitious objective for this year to make a total of 85,000 roads under the jurisdiction of the Public Works Department (PWD) pothole-free.

In a determined effort to address the deteriorating road conditions, the Uttar Pradesh government has launched a rapid road repair initiative through which they have made 44,000 roads pothole-free in the state.

Among the 44,000 roads that have already been restored to a pothole-free state in the current fiscal year, 20,000 of them have received complete reconstruction.

According to reports, the engineers who fail to meet expected progress targets are promptly replaced to ensure swift and efficient progress.

The state has set an ambitious objective for this year to make a total of 85,000 roads under the jurisdiction of the Public Works Department (PWD) pothole-free.

An assessment of the ongoing efforts is also being conducted at a high level, reportedly to ensure that complaints are promptly addressed and resolved. In addition to the PWD, several other departments, including National Highways, Mandi Parishad, Urban Development, and the Rural Development Department, are actively participating in the extensive road repair program.

This collaborative endeavour involves a total of 10 government departments. PWD has taken the lead in addressing the highest number of road repairs, accounting for approximately 39,000 roads. National Highways have contributed to 768, Mandi Parishad has worked on 377, Panchayati Raj Department has successfully repaired 274 roads, while the Irrigation Department has managed 58 road restorations.

Furthermore, Rural Development has played a significant role in repairing 183 roads, while Urban Development has actively contributed to 2,137 road repairs. Housing and Urban Planning have taken charge of 25 roads, and Infrastructure and Industrial Development have overseen 1,343 road improvements. This collaborative and swift effort aims to enhance road quality and safety across Uttar Pradesh.
