Uttar Pradesh Govt Says Microsoft To Create 3k Jobs, Invest Rs 1,800 Crore In Noida-Yamuna Expressway Belt

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that the government expect the investments to accelerate as the construction work on the Jewar airport progresses toward completion.

The Uttar Pradesh government said that the Noida-Yamuna Expressway (YXP) belt in the state is emerging as a prominent investment destination for leading IT firms, telecom equipment giants, and data centre providers. This region is also capturing the interest of real estate giants, potentially transforming into a technology hub with a bright future.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath told the Times Of India, "We expect investments to accelerate as work on the Jewar airport progresses toward completion."

While Jewar airport is not operational yet, its ongoing construction has already attracted significant investment interest from major IT companies, telecom equipment manufacturers, and data centre operators.

According to the reports, the area is already home to established tech players like HCL, Tech Mahindra, and Microsoft. Microsoft's India Development Centre spans 1.5 lakh square feet, with plans for a substantial 6.45 lakh square feet data centre. This investment amounts to approximately ₹1,800 crore and is expected to create 3,000 jobs.

With tech giants establishing a presence in the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and YXP corridor, the demand for office and recreational spaces is on the rise. Entrepreneurs like Ajay Chaudhary, Chairman of the Ace Group reportedly are planning new complexes in the area to meet this growing demand. Additionally, the region aims to create an ecosystem for tech-intensive manufacturing, such as medical devices, which can leverage existing production centres for electrical and electronic components.

Financial institutions seeking to establish IT centres are also eyeing this corridor. Vinay Arora, Senior Director and Head of Site Operations for Gurgaon and Noida at S&P Global India told TOI that the significant growth in employee headcount in Noida, from 50 to over 1,400, making the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and YXP a key location for S&P Global's operations in India.
