In an unfortunate incident, the 10-year-old-son of Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shweta Srivastava, died in Uttar Prdaesh's Lucknow after being hit by a speeding car when he was learning to skate with his coach on Tuesday.
The 10-year-old son of Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shweta Srivastava, was practicing skating with his coach when he was hit by a speeding SUV. As per media reports, police later apprehended two college students in connection to the case who fled the scene following the accident.
In an unfortunate incident, the 10-year-old-son of Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shweta Srivastava, died in Uttar Prdaesh's Lucknow after being hit by a speeding car when he was learning to skate with his coach on Tuesday.
As per media reports, police later apprehended two college students in connection to the case who fled the scene following the accident. The two accused were identified as Sarthak Singh (20), a BA LLB student from a private university, and his friend Devshree Verma (22), a BTech student. The car involved in the accident was also recovered.
Police has also identified the vehicle involved in the accident and tracked its route with the help of a CCTV camera installed in the area.
It has been learnt that the two accused were racing with each other in an SUV 700 to see who could drive faster.
Turn by turn, both drove the SUV at a speed exceeding 100 km/hr.
The accident took place when Sarthak took over and drove the SUV at over 120 km/hr that he lost control and hit the 10-year-old boy, a senior police official said.
