Uttar Pradesh takes the lead as the inaugural state to embark on a development venture akin to the Aspirational City Scheme, as emphasized in the official press release. Recently endorsed by the cabinet of the Yogi Adityanath-led government, the 'Aspirational City Plan' aims to foster fresh employment opportunities and elevate essential urban amenities, education, health, and social infrastructure in 100 small cities with populations ranging from 20,000 to one lakh.

To be eligible for the CM Fellowship Program, applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in the relevant field, with a maximum age limit of 40 years. Proficiency in both Hindi and English, coupled with competence in working with computers and information and communication technology, is also a prerequisite.
