In a bid to take a stock of the current situation, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the state disaster control room on Thursday.
Holding a meeting to take a stock of the flood situation in Uttarakhand, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami asked secretaries of all departments to prepare an action plan related to disaster relief and ensure effective action.

CM Dhami directed officials to ensure all necessary arrangements in the affected areas.
Considering the rapid flow of flood water in Ganga and other seasonal rivers in Haridwar district, and waterlogging in various areas, the chief minister directed the disaster management officers to go to the spot and take care of the arrangements themselves.
Dhami also asked the secretaries of all departments to prepare an action plan related to disaster relief and ensure effective action.
Besides food and drinking water, he also asked for an adequate arrangement of milk to be provided to the children.
Food items should also be sent by helicopter if required, he added.
Dhami also asked officials to make necessary arrangements to prevent water-borne diseases.
Dhami also has spoken to the Army regarding possible cooperation and that he was assured of all possible help if needed.
Later in the day, the chief minister also conducted an on-the-spot inspection of various areas affected by waterlogging and floods due to heavy rains in Laksar tehsil.
Dhami toured several areas including Laksar Bazar, Madarpur, Shahpur Basti, Prahladpur and Hastmauli on a rescue boat and a tractor and asked the officials to prepare a flood management plan.
Rain-related incidents continue to kill more in the state as a woman from Gujarat dies while two others went missing in Uttarakhand on Thursday, officials said.
In Rudraprayag district, a girl from Gujarat’s Surat was killed and a youth from Bihar was injured in landslide in Morani area while three bike-borne people fell into Malan River when a bridge.
According to police, while Prashant Dabral (32) is missing, two others were injured in the accident. A search operation is on to trace him.
In Tehri district, while crossing a drain near Nandgaon on Tehri-Ghansali road, two ‘kanwariyas’ riding a motorcycle were hit by a landslide.
The police said one of the kanwariya is safe but the other is missing and efforts are on to trace him.
In another incident, a landslide at Bhatwadisain near Gaurikund buried a car under its debris, injuring its driver, Rudraprayag District Disaster Management Officer Nandan Singh Rajwar said.
In the last 24 hours, four persons were also injured in landslide incidents in the state.
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the Army have also been deployed in sensitive areas of Haridwar district.
Apart from Haridwar city, various areas of Laksar, Bhagwanpur and Roorkee were inundated after the rains. In Roorkee, patrolling was increased in the surrounding areas in view of the increase in the water level of Solani River on Wednesday evening.
Many roads, including national highways, have been closed due to landslides in the mountains.
Rishikesh-Rudraprayag National Highway is closed due to debris at Bhatwadisain, Tilwara, Munikatiyar and Sonprayag while Rishikesh-Badrinath National Highway is blocked at Pipalkoti and Kanchanmala.
