The police have arrested the accused, and the woman has been rescued and taken to a local hospital for medical care.
In a disturbing incident that unfolded in a village within Saria police station area in Giridih district, Jharkhand, a 26-year-old woman was subjected to a horrifying ordeal after being thrashed, stripped, and tied to a tree. The attack was carried out by four individuals, including her lover, his father, mother, and step-mother, allegedly as a consequence of her involvement in a love affair.
According to Bagodar Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Naushad Alam, the victim had a romantic relationship with a man from the village. However, his father and his two wives hatched a sinister plan to punish the woman for her involvement with their son. They convinced the man to invite her to his residence on Wednesday night, as reported by PTI.
Upon her arrival, the four accused took her to a nearby forest, where they subjected her to severe physical assault and forcibly removed her clothes. Subsequently, they tied her to a tree using the pieces of her torn garments and abandoned her, seemingly expecting her demise overnight.
Fortunately, the police managed to rescue the woman from the harrowing situation. After narrating the horrific incident to the authorities, her statement led to the arrest of the four perpetrators. They have been remanded to judicial custody pending further investigations and legal proceedings.
