YSRCP Leader A Ramakrishna Reddy Resigns From Party And Legislative Assembly

YSRCP stalwart A Ramakrishna Reddy sends shockwaves through political circles as he tenders his resignation from both the party and the Legislative Assembly.

In a surprising turn of events, A Ramakrishna Reddy, a senior leader and MLA from the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP), announced his resignation from both the party and the Legislative Assembly, citing 'personal reasons.' On Monday, Reddy visited the assembly with his resignation letter in hand, only to find the Speaker unavailable. Undeterred, he submitted his resignation to the Speaker's officer on special duty, as reported by PTI.

Addressing reporters, Ramakrishna Reddy expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy for the opportunities afforded to him during his tenure. Despite the abrupt departure, Reddy assured that he would soon disclose the underlying reasons for his decision.

Having been actively involved in politics since 1995, Reddy recounted his journey, including his association with the Congress and his contributions under the leadership of Y S Rajasekhar Reddy. Despite facing setbacks, such as not receiving a ticket for the 2004 and 2009 elections, he remained committed to the Congress party and Rajasekhar Reddy.

Highlighting his switch to the YSRCP following an invitation from Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy after Rajasekhar Reddy's demise, Reddy reflected on his political journey. The Mangalagiri MLA, known for winning a fiercely contested battle against TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh in the 2019 polls, emphasized the strategic location and reputation of the Mangalagiri constituency nestled between Guntur and Vijayawada.
