When this issue hits the stands it will be exactly seven years since a mobdemolished Babri Masjid, burnt down houses, and killed 23 Muslims in Ayodhya.
Last week, the prime minister said: "Delays of the judicial system invitecontempt."
Chief Justice A.S. Anand responded: "(This) is due to the apathy of thegovernment."
Who is right? Perhaps home minister Advani could shed light. After all, he has for overtwo years successfully evaded the court to prevent charges being framed against him.
The courts may fail to dispense justice. But will God also fail? Didn't Kalyan Singh,a key accused in the Babri case, say: "I don't bother about the Supreme Court. Irely on the highest court of God"?
Well, God seems to be getting active. The Babri conspirators have fallen out. After losingthe CM's post, Kalyan Singh has revolted. "Even Godse was given a chance todefend himself," he whined. "But Vajpayee hanged me without a fair trial! Nowwatch my next move!"
What will he do? Close confidant Sakshi Maharaj joined Mulayam Singh to demolish the BJPin UP. Kalyan might well float his own party. He could ally with other third front frauds.Last week's grand bash in Mulayam's house to celebrate his son's weddingprovided some indication.
Mulayam, who defended Babri Masjid and ordered the police to shoot Hindu karsevaks, warmlyhugged Kalyan, whose mob killed Muslims and demolished the Masjid. Laloo, the messiah ofMuslims, hugged Kalyan, the saviour of Hindus. Laloo said: "Kalyan is our friend. Thepeople of Bihar are calling him."
Kalyan said: "If the PM can abandon the temple issue, who am I to persist withit?" The PM never supported the masjid's demolition.
Never mind if Hindus and Muslims were killed in the hatred unleashed by these leaders. Nowthere's peace among them. And that living insult to Karl Marx, H.S. Surjeet, hasblessed it. "The third front will again emerge," he said.
Muslim leaders don't question Mulayam. Hindu leaders do not question Kalyan. Assickening sycophants, they are too busy feathering their own nests while they betray theirflocks.
Cutting across party lines, all politicians stand exposed. They are one. They spreadhatred. They slaughter innocents. They loot the nation. They will receive retribution.Because there isn't only godfather. There is also God.
