Adolescence is a time paved with growth spurts and a long list of increased requirements in both micronutrients and macronutrients for the body. This is seriously influenced by the nutrition level maintained in the early developmental phase of one’s childhood. The initial 0-2 years of an infant’s lifespan is where key nutritional patterns begin to form, and if care isn’t taken at this time, it results in the perpetuation of an unbreakable cycle of wasting and malnutrition that comes into effect later in life.
