Chhillar, who hails from Haryana, is spreading awareness about menstrual hygiene through her project 'Shakti'.
A sum of Rs 18 crore will be incurred on this scheme, Khattar said.
The state government will also launch a programme to prevent anaemia among children in the state and Chhillar will be the brand ambassador for the programme, he said while congratulating her.
"It a matter of pride and happiness that our daughter, after becoming Miss World, has selected International Gita Mahotsav programme for her first visit to Haryana," he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Chhillar said that Haryana has given a lot to her and she has dreams to do something for girls here.
About her own achievement, she said her success story is an example for the girls in the state.
"Dream big and don't be afraid of realising your dreams. Haryana will back you up," she said.
She also lauded the efforts and initiatives of the chief minister and the state government in the direction to improve the sex ratio in the state.
Chairperson of Miss World Organisation, Julia Morley, was also present on the occasion.
