Another myth which the survey does away with is that oral sex is taboo for the Indian married couple. It is apparently quite prevalent—over 45 per cent of the respondents confirm that they had indulged in oral sex at some time or the other. Delhi has the highest percentage of oral sex practice (52); Madras the lowest (37 per cent). Oral sex, the survey indicates, is often used as stimulation for oneself or for arousing the partner. Interestingly, 52 per cent of respondents believe oral sex is normal while only 30 per cent think it to be dirty. Another 30 per cent think that oral sex is harmful for health. Joint oral sex—each partner stimulating the other with the mouth—is also frequent. Over 50 per cent admit it is a regular feature and only 25 per cent say that it is an act in which they never indulge.
