The AIIMS Diet

  • 4-5 servings of fruit and vegetables in raw form

  • Fibre through whole grains, whole-wheat atta, oats, maize, jowar and pulses

  • Fish or flax seeds for Omega 3 fatty acids

  • Rajma, black gram, lobia, soybeans and soya products

  • Avoid use of refined food (like maida), sugar and vanaspati

  • Besides this, a 40-minute walk, 10 minutes of resistance exercises per day and 60 minutes of physical activity per week are also recommended
