After a superb start to the 2023 Asian Games on Day 1, India began Day 2 on a rousing note, bagging its first gold medal via the men's 10m air rifle team comprising Rudrankksh Patil, Divyansh Panwar and Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar. The team broke the world record in the process, and Aishwary topped it off with an individual bronze. Indian Women's cricket team have clinched gold at the Asian Games 2023 in the Gold medal match. With this, India are now in the top five of the medals tally. The men's 25m rapid fire pistol team followed it up with another bronze to take India's medal tally to 10. Before that, the rowing quartet of Jaswinder Singh, Bheem Singh, Punit Kumar and Ashish won the country's first medal of the day as they clinched bronze in the men's four final, and another quartet of Parminder Singh, Sukhmeet Singh, Jakhar Khan and Satnam Singh clinched bronze in the men's quadruple sculls. Later in the day, the Indian women's cricket team defeated Sri Lanka to add another gold medal to the tally. Monday will also be a busy day for Indian athletes in boxing, swimming and tennis.
