5 Reasons To Watch The Historic ONE Fight Night 10: Johnson Vs. Moraes III

With 3 World Title bouts and a stacked card, ONE's groundbreaking U.S. debut goes down this Friday in Colorado.

History will be made on Friday, May 5, as ONE Championship touches down at 1stBank Center in Colorado for the organization’s first-ever show in North America.

ONE Fight Night 10: Johnson vs. Moraes III on Prime Video is a truly blockbuster event topped by a trio of World Title bouts in three different sports – and otherwise stacked with intriguing high-stakes from top to bottom.

In short, this massive card is a fitting introduction of the world’s largest martial arts organization to live American fans.

With the showcase just days away, here are five reasons why you can’t miss all the MMA, Muay Thai, kickboxing, and submission grappling action at ONE Fight Night 10.

#1 Johnson And Moraes Settle Their Epic World Title Trilogy

The stage is set for drama in the main event, as MMA GOAT and reigning ONE Flyweight World Champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson will defend his crown against former titleholder Adriano “Mikinho” Moraes in one of the most anticipated trilogy fights in mixed martial arts history.

Until facing each other, neither of these men had been finished in their respective MMA careers.

In April 2021, Moraes knocked out the American legend with a grounded knee, but in August 2022, “Mighty Mouse” evened the score with a sensational flying knee KO to claim the belt.

If their first two battles were any indication, the rubber match – widely regarded as the biggest World Title fight in ONE history – will deliver furious action and fireworks from bell to bell.

Adding even more intrigue, DJ has teased retirement in recent days, opening up the possibility that this could be his very last MMA bout.

#2 Two More World Title Showdowns

A pair of captivating World Title fights in two other disciplines are set to go down before the main event.

First, ONE Flyweight Submission Grappling World Champion Mikey “Darth Rigatoni” Musumeci will defend his gold against Yemeni rising star Osamah Almarwai, who aims to make the Middle East proud and become the region’s first-ever ONE World Champion.

After that, Thai megastar Rodtang Jitmuangnon will bring his inimitable charisma and firebrand style of fighting to America when he puts his ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Title on the line against dangerous Mexican scrapper Edgar Tabares.

#3 The Return Of Sage Northcutt

After four years away from competition, American fan favorite “Super” Sage Northcutt will make his long-awaited return when he takes on surging Pakistani star Ahmed Mujtaba in a lightweight bout.

A multiple-time Karate World Champion before turning pro, the Texas native suffered a devastating knockout in his promotional debut back in 2019. Now, the 27-year-old is fully healed and ready to make a statement in this make-or-break fight.

Northcutt won’t have an easy task on May 5, though.

Mujtaba comes into the contest following a pair of dominant first-round finishes. Full of confidence, he could be poised to climb the divisional rankings – especially if he can beat Northcutt in enemy territory.

#4 A Unique Submission Grappling Super-Fight

One of the most interesting submission grappling matches ever hosted in ONE will take place on Friday, as 20-year-old BJJ prodigy Tye Ruotolo moves up two weight classes to battle current middleweight MMA king Reinier de Ridder.

Undefeated with a 100 percent finishing rate in ONE, Ruotolo is one of the planet’s most aggressive, entertaining grapplers, and he asked for a date with “The Dutch Knight” after his most recent submission victory.

De Ridder, though, is considered by many to be the best grappler in MMA. He’s a BJJ and judo black belt and will own a significant size advantage over the American, making for an interesting clash.

#5 High-Stakes Matchups From Start To Finish

There won’t be any time for fans to catch their breath, as this groundbreaking event is loaded with superstars vying to be the next World Title challengers in their respective divisions.

In women’s atomweight MMA action, #1-ranked contender and former Muay Thai and Kickboxing World Champion Stamp Fairtex will square off with American rising star Alyse Anderson, and the winner could propel herself to a shot at gold.

Also, lethal knockout artists Roberto Soldic and Zebaztian Kadestam will go to war for a potential crack at the welterweight MMA throne, former two-division ONE World Champion Aung La N Sang will take on Fan Rong as he aims for another chance at glory, and strawweight Muay Thai phenoms Jackie Buntan and Diandra Martin are both hoping to earn a rematch with old foe Smilla Sundell.

Simply put, this lineup features a mind-blowing collection of talent that will show why ONE Championship is truly The Home of Martial Arts.
