However, the visitors will be without their talismanic spinner Rashid Khan who is still nursing an injury and continues to recover from the back injury.
In his absence, Qais Ahmad was roped in the squad. ACB have also named Naveed Zadran and wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Ishaq for the one-off Test against Sri Lanka.
The Test match will be played at the SSC from February 2.

Three players uncapped at the Test level make it to the squad: Lahiru Udara, Chamika Gunasekara, and Milan Rathnayake. Udara is a wicketkeeper-batter, whereas Gunasekara and Rathnayake are pacers.

Where to watch Afghanistan tour of Sri Lanka series in India?
The series will be telecast live on the Sony Sports Ten 5 SD and HD TV channels in India. It will be live streamed on the Sonyliv app and website in India.
Afghanistan's last Test came in June 2023, when they lost to Bangladesh by a huge margin. This will be their eighth Test match. Afghanistan have played 7 Tests so far and are yet to register a win under their belt.
As for Sri Lanka, they start their Test journey under a new skipper in the form of Dhananjaya de Silva with Kusal Mendis being his deputy. The hosts are playing at the very same venue where they last played a Test match and lost by an innings and 222 runs to Pakistan.

After the Test match, both the teams will be locking horns in ODI series scheduled to commence from February 9 whereas the 1st T20I will be played on February 17.
