Sports Minister Anurag Thakur took to Twitter to congratulate India's javelin throw star Neeraj Chopra on his title win in the Lausanne Diamond League on Friday.
Neeraj, who was returning from a brief layoff due to injury, achieved his title-winning throw of 87.66m in his fifth attempt.

In a separate tweet, he also shared praise for Sreeshankar Murali, who finished fifth in the long jump event.
Thakur wrote: "Neeraj is back with a bang With a massive throw of 87.66m in his 5th attempt, @Neeraj_chopra1 dominates yet another Diamond League event finishing on position in Men's Javelin Throw event at #LausanneDL Phenomenal effort by our #TOPScheme athlete to make a blockbuster comeback after a muscle injury and make proud again. Neeraj, who was returning from a brief layoff due to injury, achieved his title-winning throw of 87.66m in his fifth attempt. He did look rusty initially, having a couple of his attempts deemed as invalid. He finished his sixth and final attempt with a throw of 84.15m.
Sreeshankar, finishing fifth in the long jump event, registered his best jump of 7.88m in the third attempt. In his fifth attempt, he fell short and could cover 7.66m, which saw his lose his top three spot.
