Asia Cup 2023 Qualification: With India In The Final, Here's The Status Of Sri Lanka And Pakistan

With India in the final, the race is now between the Lankans and Pakistan, who will meet in a virtual knock-out semi-final on Thursday in Colombo.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh are out of the reckoning as they lost to both Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Super 4 stage.

Qualification Process:

  • Sri Lanka are second in the Super 4 table and despite their 41-run loss to India, they possess a better Net Run Rate over Pakistan.
     
  • Sri Lanka have to beat Pakistan to book their place in the Asia Cup 2023 final. If the game is a wash-out, Sri Lanka will go through on the basis of a better NRR.
     
  • For Pakistan, they have to win to qualify for the final. Their 228-run defeat at the hands of India, have damaged their Net Run Rate (-1.892) Babar Azam's men will have no chance of making it to the final if the rain gods have their wish on Thursday.
