Australian bowling legend Glenn McGrath has picked his top four teams for the mega tournament and selected India as one of them just for the playing conditions.
“You wouldn’t be surprised that I’m putting Australia in that four. Obviously, India are playing in their own conditions. England is playing some great cricket and Pakistan is also playing fine. So, they are the best four,” McGrath was quoted in the Times of India.
England are the reigning champions after winning the title in 2019 against New Zealand. India lifted the title in 2011 whereas Australia won it in 2015.
Pakistan won the Cricket World Cup in 1992 but haven't won it since. However, they did finish as runners-up in 1999.
Team India have some serious work left to do as 2023 ODI World Cup looming large. Question marks remain over the likes of Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah and KL Rahul's availability.
India play their opening World Cup game against Australia in Chennai on October 8.
According to reports, the iconic India versus Pakistan clash is moved to October 14 instead of the usual October 15 due to Navratri celebrations in Ahmedabad.
