Warner and Marsh put up mammoth 259-run stand against Pakistan in their World Cup match in Bengaluru

Despite losing the toss, Australia got off to a blistering start in their World Cup fixture against Pakistan, as openers David Warner and Mitchell Marsh stitched a 100-runs plus stand in 12 overs. Both the openers attacked the Pakistani bowlers to all corners of the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru as Babar Azam and his side felt the heat. (Scorecard | ODI World Cup | More Cricket News)

Warner and Marsh took the attack to towards the likes of Haris Rauf and Usama Mir which included a vary of strokemaking in the first-10 overs of the game.

However, when Rauf came to bowl in the ninth over, never in his wildest dreams the pacer would have imagined that he would have been hammered all across the ground. Warner smashed Rauf's 145kmph delivery for a six by playing his favourite lap shot.

Warner's six was a 98-metre hit that hit the roof of the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Moreover, his six is also the 2nd biggest maximum of this World Cup, only behind Shreyas Iyer's monstrous 101-metre six.



The duo put a massive 259-run partnership and is the second highest opening partnership in World Cup history after 282-run stand between Dilshan and Tharanga vs Zimbabwe in 2011.
