Indian pugilist Akash Kumar outclassed Wasim Abusal of Palestine to reach the 57kg category final of the Mustafa Hajrulahovic Memorial tournament in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Kumar, who had won the World Championships bronze medal in the 2021 edition, began the bout with aggressive intent and looked in control right from the first round.
Abusal tried to counter-attack in the second round but to no avail as Kumar's fierce punches kept coming one after the other.
The Indian did not give his opponent even a whiff of a comeback throughout the bout. Kumar completed a unanimous 5-0 victory to advance to the summit clash to be held on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Manish Kaushik (63.5kg) and Manju Rani (50kg) will be in action on Friday in their semifinal bouts.
An 11-member Indian team, which includes five women, is competing in the tournament.
