India Vs Australia, 1st Test Day 1: Inspired Jasprit Bumrah Sparks Stunning Turnaround In Perth
The Jasprit Bumrah-led Indian bowling offset the team's batting failure on Day 1, producing a stunning turnaround to leave Australia on tenterhooks at stumps at Perth's Optus Stadium on Friday (November 22, 2024). After the visitors were bowled out for 150 runs in the first innings, they reduced the Aussies to 67 for seven after 27 overs of fiery pace bowling. Bumrah picked up four wickets, Mohammed Siraj snared two and Harshit Rana bagged the prized scalp of Travis Head in his debut outing. The other debutant, Nitish Kumar Reddy, earlier top-scored for the team with a 41-run knock that rescued them from what could have been an under-100 total.
