After bowling out the tourists for 218 on the first day, India registered a mammoth 477 by taking a lead of 259 runs. In the second innings, England were skittled out for 195 after Ashwin's five wickets. Apart from the offie, Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav took two each. For England, Joe Root top-scored with 84 runs whereas Jonny Bairstow scored 39 runs. Earlier, Gill and Rohit scored 110 and 103 runs, respectively in India's first innings. For England, Shoaib Bashir took five wickets and James Anderson took his 700th scalp of his long career. India won the five-match series against England with 4-1 scoreline.
