Both teams have won their first matches in the tournament. India defeated Pakistan by seven runs in a close encounter. UAE too played a close game against Oman before clinching a four-wicket victory in the last over of the match.
Anshul Kamboj with the new ball for India. Aryansh Sharma and Mayank Kumar are the UAE openers. Both sides will want to keep winning. A win for India or the UAE will most likely seal their place in the semi-finals.
A four on the second ball, a six on the fifth and the final ball of the opening over brings a wicket. An eventful first over from Anshul Kamboj and he gets his man Mayank Kumar on the sixth ball. India A begin on a high note and UAE too would love the agressive start. Mayank Kumar trapped in front of wickets for 10(5).
UAE 11/1 (1)
Vaibhav Arora comes up from the other end and he too gets a wicket. Both UAE openers have been sent back to the pavillion within first nine balls of the match and the attacking approach from the Arab side is not quite working. Aryansh Sharma hands a catch to Nishant Sidhu and he goes for just 1(5).
UAE 14/2 (2)
Anshul Kamboj back with the third over. Nilansh Keswan and Rahul Bhatia are the two men in the middle for UAE. Bhatia finds the gap on the third ball of the over and gets a four towards the deep mid-wicket region. A boundary and two singles in the third over.
UAE 20/2(3)
Vaibhav Arora continues from the other end. Swing on offer for Arora and he concedes just four runs from the over, including one from a wide ball which becomes the first extra of the game.
UAE 25/2 (4)
First bowling change of the evening and it is left-arm spinner Nishant Sindhu who gets a chance to roll his arms now. Rahul Bhatia gets underneath the fourth ball of the over and lofts it for a six over the cover boundary. First six for Bhatia and the second of the match. In total, 10 runs come from the fifth over.
UAE 35/2 (5)
Right-arm medium pacer Rasikh Salam into the attack and he gets a wicket first ball. Nilansh Keswani goes on Salam's very first ball and he is out, caught by Vaibhav Arora. Keswani gets 5(9).
Salam gets two in two! Vishnu Sukumaran faces his first ball and he is caught behind by Prabhsimran Singh. Salam on fire and India on fire too. UAE in BIG BIG trouble.
Syed Haider Shah, the new man in, gets a four on the fourth ball of the over to get some consolation. But Salam gets him too on the very next ball. Shah has been bowled by Salam on the third ball he was facing. Shah goes back for just 4(3). Stunning stuff! Rasikh Salam strikes thrice in his very first over. Half of the UAE side is now in pavilion.
UAE 40/5 (6)
Brilliant powerplay for the young India A side. They were expected to dominate UAE and they have done just that. Two wickets in the first two overs and then the Rasikh Salam show. Five runs and three wickets in the first six balls that Salam bowled. Half of UAE side is back in the pavillion. Can they go in three figures tonight? Massive task ahead for them.
Basil Hameed is the new man in at No 7. Tilak Varma has brought into the attack his leading spinner Rahul Chahar. Not a pleasant start for the Rajasthan leg-spinner. Hameed has launched him for a six over deep mid-wicket on the third ball and by the end, it becomes an expensive over. 11 runs from it.
UAE 51/5 (7)
Rahul Chahar is having a tough time tonight. Basil Hameed is taking him on and Chahar is found lacking those defensive instincts. Two sixes Hameed has hit off Chahar so far and Rahul Bhatia too has smashed one. A good phase for UAE here after they lost five wickets inside the powerplay. Rahul Bhatia who came in at No 4 is still there and Hameed is striking it hard. Last few overs have gone well for UAE.
UAE 81/5 (10)
Now, Abhishek Sharma joins the party. First ball and he has removed the dangerous Basil Hameed. Good catch from Abhishek off his on bowling and UAE are now six down. Hameed goes for 22(12).
UAE 82/6 (11)
If all the wickets were not enough, we now see a run out. Miscommunication and Sanchit Sharma, who had just come to the crease, will have to go back. Tilak Varma gets his throw right and UAE lose their seventh wicket. Sanchit goes for a four-ball Duck.
UAE 86/7 (12)
Ramandeep Singh now gets two in an over with his gentle pace. He gets Muhammad Farooq in the first ball of the 15th over and then finishe the over by having Jawadullah caught by Ayush Badoni. Two wickets for Ramandeep and UAE are now nine down.
UAE 100/9 (15)
UAE bowled out for 107 in 16.5 overs.
Rahul Bhatia's lone fight ends and with that ends UAE's innings too. 107 runs in 17 overs and another new wicket-taker for India. Nehal Wadhera is the man with the last wicket. He gets Rahul for 50(51).
Lots of wicket-takers for India tonight. Anshul Kamboj, Vaibhav Arora got a wicket each with the new ball. Ramandeep Singh struck twice in the 15th over. Abhishek Sharma and Nehal Wadhera did not even concede a run and picked up a wicket each. Rasikh Salam struck thrice in his very first over. Rahul Chahar had a poor outing and conceded 38 runs in four overs without a wicket.
Target for India A: 108
Abhishek Sharma and Prabhsimran Singh, the two India A openers, are out in the middle. Omid Rahman begins with the new ball for UAE. India A are chasing 108 runs and they have 120 balls to do that. Should be easy.
Six and out! Prabhsimran Singh launches the fourth ball of the innings for a six over long on but on the last ball of the opening over Rahman shatters his stumps.
IND-A 8/1 (1)
Abhishek Sharma is on song. 22 runs from the second over and all from the bat of the Punjab batter. 0,4,6,2,4,6 is what the over looks like and total destruction from Abhishek. UAE captain Basil Hameed is the bowler at the receiving end of it all.
IND-A 30/1 (2)
Tilak Varma too starts with a couple of boundaries. First ball, he finds the gap on the off side and third ball, he sends towards the leg side. Nine from the over.
IND-A 39/1 (3)
A four from Abhishek Sharma to close the fourth over and India continue to go well in this game. Eight runs from the over from Jawadullah.
IND-A 47/1 (4)
Abhishek Sharma is making a mockery of this chase and he is being well supported by his captain Tilak Varma. 27 runs off the last two overs of the powerplay and India A are now just 34 runs away from the win.
IND-A 74/1 (6)
20 balls is all Abhishek Sharma takes to complete a half-century. Exceptional hitting. Totally ruthless in his approach is this young left-hander. Five fours and three sixes so far in his innings and he has brought India A on the cusp of their second consecutive win of the tournament.
Tilak Varma is gone! That will be it tonight for the Indian skipper. Vishnu Sukumaran just clean bowls Tilak Varma just the ball after Abhishek completes his half ton. Varma goes for 21(18). Nehal Wadhera is the new man in.
IND-A 87/2 (8)
Abhishek Sharma departs! Six and out yet again. Abhishek launches Muhammad Farooq down the ground for a maximum and the very next ball the left-hander does not find good enough connect and hands a catch. Abhishek goes for 58(24) but India are sure of a win here it seems.
IND-A 97/3 (9)
India A win by seven wickets!
Ayush Badoni smashes a six and then finds a four to wrap things up tonight. India earn their second straight win, UAE have tasted defeat after an opening win.
IND-A 111/3 (10.5)
A totally dominating performance from India A. Right from the start of the match when Anshul Kamboj and Vaibhav Arora struck to remove both UAE openers within first 10 balls of the match. Rasikh Salam then gave three blows in the sixth over to ensure that UAE would not go too big with their score. More India A bowlers registered their names in the wicket-takers list and UAE were bowled out for just 107. Rahul Chopra scored 51 from 50 balls but others just could not get enough runs.
In reply, Abhishek Sharma slammed a 24-ball 58 to bury the match and India A won the game by seven wickets.
India A now on top of Group B with two wins in two outings. This massive loss has put a big dent on UAE's net run rate and they have fallen to third in the group behind Pakistan A even though both sides have one win each in two games. Oman, the fourth team in the group, are winless so far.
Fine then. A brilliant all-round show from India A and they earn back-to-back wins. That will be it from our side tonight. Good night!
