It’s clear that Day 1 belonged to the bowlers, while the batters struggled to stay afloat, it was the bowlers who stole the show. A staggering 17 wickets fell on the first day of the Test. Despite being bowled out for 150, India didn’t back down. Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins, and the rest of the pace attack did well to dismantle India’s batting, but Jasprit Bumrah and his fellow quicks responded superbly, showing what they’re made of. The batters didn’t have much to offer, but thanks to Rishabh Pant and Nitish Reddy’s contributions of 37 and 41, it could have been worse.

Overall, it was a day dominated by fast bowlers, and tomorrow is expected to offer no respite.

India might have hoped for a higher total, but Josh Hazlewood's four-wicket haul restricted them to 150. However, the Jasprit Bumrah-led side will be pleased with their bowling performance, with Bumrah leading the charge by claiming four wickets. Harshit Rana also made his mark, taking a wicket on debut, while Mohammed Siraj chipped in with two.

India finished the opening day with Australia trailing by 83 runs in the first innings. Alex Carey and Mitchell Starc are unbeaten at the crease as the hosts still have three wickets left. Jasprit Bumrah took a four-wicket haul and Mohammed Siraj took a couple of wickets on Day 1. Harshit Rana also got his maiden Test wicket when he dismissed Travis Head with a jaffa.

Cricket Australia has announced a series of initiatives to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the tragic death of Phillip Hughes. A tribute will be held before the start of the second Test match between India and Australia at the Adelaide Oval, scheduled for December 6-10. Additionally, Hughes will be honored during the upcoming three Sheffield Shield games, where players will wear black armbands and flags will be flown at half-mast.

In the captain's face-off, Jasprit Bumra came on top of Pat Cummins. He got him caught behind and took his fourth wicket in the match. Mitchell Starc is the new batter at the crease.

Virat Kohli can take a sigh of relief! Marnus Labuschagne is gone! Mohammed Siraj got rid of him with a plumb. He also used a DRS which went in vain as it was three reds. He made only two runs while playing 52 balls, that makes it his lowest score in Test cricket after playing more than 50 balls.

Only half an hour of play is left in Day 1 of the opening Test match in Perth and it will be interesting to see how many overs Indian team bowl from here. They are bowling only pacers and it seems unlikely if they will introduce a spinner from here.

Mitchell Marsh was caught at the third slip by KL Rahul when Mohammed Siraj got a thick edge off his bat in the 17th over. Half of the Australia team is back in the pavilion and Alex Carey is the new batter at the crease. Labuschagne has made only two runs in 41 balls.

Debutant Harshit Rana dismissed the dangerous batter Travis Head with a jaffa when he came to bowl his third over. This is Head's weakness and he has been dismissed on this length multiple times. KKR used the same length to dismiss him in the IPL final and Qualifier 1 as well. Rana, a KKR player delivered what was needed and India got their fourth wicket.

After Usman Khawaja, Jasprit Bumrah got rid of Steven Smith on the next delivery as he picked his third wicket in the match. Smith was caught in front of the wickets. He asked Marnus Labuschagne about the DRS but took no chance as it was three reds. Travis Head is the new batter and he barely survived the hat-trick delivery.

Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj made Australian batters struggle for runs in the opening overs. But Usman Khawaja was managing to take a single or two here and there. Bumrah, who consistently troubled him, got his caught in the second slip. Virat Kohli made no mistake this time.

Jasprit Bumrah opened the bowling attack for India and Usman Khawaja came to open the innings with the debutant Nathan McSweeney. Bumrah conceded six runs in the first over but got rid of the debutant in his next over. Marnus Labuschagne came as new batter and Bumrah almost got him but Virat Kohli dropped him in the second slip.

Nitish Kumar Reddy is the last man to lose his wicket. He tried to score quickly and got a chance when Usman Khawaja dropped him in the 50th over. He hit a boundary on the next delivery and then tried to play the same shot but Khawaja covered some ground and took a diving catch to finish Indian innings for 150 runs.

Indian batters are in no hurry to score runs as Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood opened the attack. Starc removed Jasiwal early and Devdutt Padikkal also looked struggling against the veterans. Pat Cummins replaced Hazlewood and came to bowl himself in the 8th over. Padikkal and Rahul are seeing off the deliveries and waiting for the ball to become old.

All rounder Reddy has shown great potential in limited-over cricket and he is expected to make contributions in both departments. This is Rana's international debut.
