After a wobbly start early on the opening day, things changed for Pakistan via a half-century from Saim Ayub. Saud Shakeel then combined with Mohammad Rizwan to put up a marathan 240-run stand for the fifth wicket. Shakeel hit 141 while Rizwan scored an unbeaten 171, his highest score in Tests. Pakistan declared on 448/6 and Bangladesh will now start from their overnight score of 27 without loss.

"All the talk about live grass and surface helping the fast bowlers on day 1.. but it has been a run fest. We did see some turn yesterday for Mehidy and Shakib. There are a few cracks, nothing alarming but one ball might hit one of those and create doubts. It is still a good batting wicket," says Nick Compton on-air.
