A game-changing hat-trick from Lockie Ferguson, followed up by a fabulous final over from Glenn Phillips took New Zealand to a thrilling five-run win over Sri Lanka, in the second T20I in Dambulla on Sunday (November 10, 2024). Chasing a paltry 109-run target, the hosts were bundled out for 103 runs in 19.5 overs, as Ferguson's mid-innings burst breathed life into the match as well as series. With the victory, the BlackCaps levelled the two-match series 1-1. A three-match ODI series follows, starting November 13 at the same venue.
