Though West Indies won their first ODI of 2024, Sri Lanka clinched the series 2-1.

Earlier, rain disrupted proceedings in the 18th over of the Lankan innings, with the hosts batting at 81 for the loss of one wicket when it began bucketing down. Pathum Nissanka (44 not out off 53 balls) was just joined by Kusal Mendis (0 not out off 1) before the rain-compelled break in play.

Play finally resumed after a lengthy delay and the match was curtailed to a 23 overs a side affair. The hosts scored 75 in 34 balls upon resumption to end the innings at 156 for three. The target was DLS-adjusted to 195 runs for the Windies.
