The Dutch side rode a rollicking 140-run opening stand between Vikramjit Singh (66 runs off 87 balls) and Max O'Dowd (69 off 95) to post a 241-run total in 50 overs. Junaid Siddique picked up three wickets for the UAE.
In reply, UAE were bundled out for just 174 runs in 45.2 overs, as Kyle Klein, Aryan Dutt and Roelof van der Merwe claimed three wickets apiece. Ali Naseer (45 off 39) and captain Rahul Chopra (43 off 63) were the only batters to mount any resistance.
United Arab Emirates won the toss and opted to bowl first against Netherlands.
