Before Match 40, the two sides had met just last Friday, where the United States also suffered an embarrassing defeat by Scotland, losing by 10 wickets
The match kicked off with the United States winning the toss and opting to field first against Scotland in Match 40 of the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2.
Scotland's batters looked in good form as the opener, Charlie Tear, contributed a steady 51 off 89 balls, hitting 2 fours and 1 six, before being caught and bowled by Nosthush Kenjige.
However, after Andrew Umeed was dismissed for just 18 runs off 18 balls, caught by Monank Patel off Saurabh Netravalkar, the Scotland player who followed became a nightmare for the USA bowlers.
Brandon McMullen dominated the innings with an impressive 151 runs off 140 balls, hitting 11 fours and 6 sixes, before being bowled by Jasdeep Singh. His performance earned him the Player of the Match award.
In the USA's innings, the batters struggled with their form, appearing quite erratic. Utkarsh Srivastava stood out with a solid performance, scoring 67 runs off 63 balls, before being caught by Richie Berrington off Jack Jarvis.
Captain Monank Patel contributed a valuable 52 runs from 45 balls, while Sanjay Krishnamurthi added 49 runs off 54 balls. Despite these efforts, the team was bowled out for 246 in 44 overs.
