South Africa captain Keshav Maharaj won the toss and opted to bowl first against England. The toss was delayed due to rain.
South Africa dismissed Egland for 201 in 28.1 overs in the rain-truncated match, meaning Jos Buttler & Co. have been bowled out for the fifth successive time in the ODIs. Liam Livingstone top scored with a 26-ball 38, while Sam Curran hit 35 in 18 balls as England looked to set a big target.
For South Africa, Dwaine Pretorius took four wickets (4/36) in six overs, while Anrich Nortje (2/53 in 5.1 overs) and Tabraiz Shamsi (2/39 in 6) got a brace each.
In reply, a strong bowling performance from the hosts immediately put South Africa on the back foot, with the tourists reduced to 6-4 after four overs as Janneman Malan, Rassie van der Dussen and Aiden Markram were all out for ducks.
The spin of Adil Rashid (3-29) and Moeen Ali (2-22) finished off the South Africans in just 20.4 overs. The only real resistance came from Heinrich Klassen, who hit 33 before being stumped by Jos Buttler — soon after England's wicketkeeper-captain showed brilliant reactions to run out Markram with a close-range throw.
The final ODI will take place in Leeds on Sunday.

The match marked the swansong of England Test captain Ben Stoke's ODI cricket. He scored five off 11 and was wicketless in his spell of five overs (0/44).
England are staring at back-to-back ODI series defeats. Jos Buttler's men lost to India 1-2 in their previous series.
South Africa have not won a bilateral series in England in any format since their Test series win in 2012. Their last white-ball series win in England was way back in 1998.
