Ex-Pakistan Star Takes A Jibe At Indian Team's Chances At ODI World Cup 2023

India will take on arch-rivals, Pakistan on October 14 in an ODI World Cup game at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

With the ODI World Cup starting in October, everyone's eyes will be on the iconic - India versus Pakistan tie that will take place on October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Despite both teams being eager to register a win, former Pakistan pacer Aaqib Javed has stated that Babar Azam's men will be the stronger side amongst the two teams and the Men in Green will have a 'great chance' to beat India on latter's soil as their 'fitness and form is not up to the mark'. India and Pakistan last played a bilateral series back in January 2012. (More Cricket News)

After the tour, both the teams have went on to face each other in ICC tournaments and Asia Cup as political tensions from either sides have prevented the two from playing any bilateral series. However, the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2023 gives Pakistan a chance to play India in India.

I think Pakistan side is balanced and the age graph of players is much better, India are on that stage where they have big names but their fitness and form is not up to the mark," said Javed as quoted by Cricwick.

"They will struggle and might have to find new players to form a combination. I think Pakistan have a great chance of beating India in India," he added.

As per news agency PTI, the match between India and Pakistan has been pulled up by a day after local security agencies expressed inability to provide adequate protection on October 15, which is the first day of Hindu festival, Navratri.
