Bengaluru's local boy Venkatesh as well as adopted son Chhetri start on the bench tonight as Rohit Danu plays up with Jorge Pereyra Diaz and Edgar Mendez. Interesting change with how the youngster has performed all season. Both BFC and Punjab shape up as 4-3-3 at the Sree Kanteerava.
We are about 10 minutes away from kick-off as the players walk back to their change rooms after the final warm-ups. The crowd have slowly started to fill in. Bengaluru seems to be buzzing - as they should. Top of the table with 10 points in four games, and are on an unbeaten run.

The home side is on the charge early from the left. However, the attack is controlled and shut down by the Punjab defence. It has been a decent start to the game with respect to the pace of it, but promises to be an exciting contest.
Edgar Mendez has a word with the official after a strong push, but nothing from the referee, as play continues and Punjab look to break. Zaragoza is livid. Promising signs from both the sides in the first 13 minutes of play.
It has been a tough 20 minutes of play with both teams, controlling the game in phases. The fortress as Bengaluru calls it, the Sree Kanteerava has filled up and the fans are having a party.
What a chance that was for Punjab, and now they have a corner. Constant pressure being applied on Bengaluru now. However, they have nothing to show as the score remains 0-0 after the first 30 minutes of play. Water break!
Goallll!!! 1-0 and Bengaluru have the lead with two minutes left in the first-half. What a strike from Roshan Singh, and the Kanteerava is absolutely buzzing. They don't call it fortness just for the sake of it. A very decent half turns into a good one for Bengaluru.
There's a change straight away for the home side as Sunil Chhetri is substituted in for Rohit Danu, and look at the cheers, listen to the noise. The Bengaluru fans are singing, and Kanteerava Stadium is the place to be this Friday evening if you are in Bengaluru.
Bengaluru are down to 10 as Chinglensana Singh sees a second yellow for the night. With more than 30 minutes of play left, this one could go either way. Gerard Zaragoza makes yet another change, and expectedly, a defensive one.
Bengaluru continue to hold their nerve with a man down, and the clock continues to tick towards full-time. 20 minutes to go. Can the home team hold on and take all three points? Or will Punjab FC find a late equaliser? Should be a cracking last phase of the game.
Punjab are throwing everything they have against Bengaluru at the Sree Kanteerava, but somehow, BFC are holding on to their 1-0 lead. With eight minutes left in regulation time, it could still go either way. What a game it has been so far, and it has lived up to the table toppers hype.
Tense moments at the Kanteerava as the match officials show yet another red - this time to a BFC support staff. Gerard Zaragoza is furious. To add to it, six minutes have been added. The Kanteerava is cutting loose.
And that's full-time in Bengaluru and the hosts have taken all three points. 1-0 with 10 men, and it felt bigger. And as always, the fans showed up making it an absolute theatre. Five games, four wins, 13 points. What a campaign so far.
