After a disappointing showing against Mohammedan Sporting at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai, here's how Owen Coyle's men shape up for the Hyderabad clash
We are just under 20 minutes away from kick-off, and with the line-ups out, Hyderabad FC have opted for a 4-2-3-1 formation with Allan Paulista in front, while Chennaiyin have gone in with a 4-4-2 approach, with Daniel Chukwu and Irfan Yadwad in attack.
We are underway, and what a start it has been for the visitors. It seems like they have a spring attached to their studs and are running all over, catching Hyderabad by surprice. Three shots on target in the first six minutes of the game!
After an ambitious start from Chennaiyin FC, the hosts have slightly broken their momemtum and have been trying to stick a few good passes of their own, looking to launch an attack. However, Owen Coyle's men have dominated the possession game thus far.
It has been a gruelling 30 minutes of play, and it still remains 0-0 in Hyderabad. There has been a few glimpses of brilliance, but nothing to break the deadlock. Laldinpuia and Hnamte have been solid for Chennaiyin, while Adbul Raheeb has been Hyderabad FC's best player on the pitch today.
And that's the half time whistle in Hyderabad. We've had five shots on target from Chennaiyin and just one from the hosts. However, they have been firm in defence in the last 15 minutes and have not conceded a goal. Arshdeep Singh has already made five saves, and two from inside the box.
We are up and running in the second half of the tie. Hyderabad continue with their 4-2-3-1 approach without any changes, while on the other hand, Chennaiyin FC are also sticking to their 4-4-2 strategy. However, we could see a few changes in the next few minutes of the clash.
Chennaiyin FC, as expected, have made a few changes, bringing in Wilmar Jordan and Gurkirat Singh for Daniel Chukwi and Irfan Yadwad. On the other side, Hyderabad FC are down to ten, with Parag Shrivas sees second yellow.
Hyderabad now fighting it out with ten men, trying to hold off the visitors. However, Allan Paulista and Abdul Rabeeh are substituted for Hrangthankima Laldanmawia and Devendra Murgaokar.
And that's the final whistle, with both teams happy to take a point in the end. Both teams have a good break next - Hyderabad will now face Jamshedpur FC on October 21, while Chennaiyin will go against NorthEast United on October 17.
Thank you so much for joining us, and we will see you soon. Until next time, take care and goodbye!
