The match started off in fantastic fashion as Chennaiyin FC were off the blocks firing, registering three shots on target in just six minutes.
The hosts Hyderabad, finally got the grip of the game, and continued to stay disciplined in defence, but Alex Saji, one of their central defenders saw a yellow card early in the game.
Arshdeep Singh was the hero of the clash as he made six saves, and three, much needed ones inside the box to keep the game alive for Hyderabad.
The game picked up a bit more pace after tired legs were taken off in the 60th minute with Chennaiyin, wanting to go for all three points.
Things turned a little worse for Hyderabad after Parag Shrivas saw two yellow cards in eight minutes and was sent off.
Nevertheless, the hosts, managed to hold Chennaiyin off for the remaining minutes of the game to take a point.
Hyderabad will now face Jamshedpur FC on October 21, while Chennaiyin will go against NorthEast United on October 17.
