Bengaluru FC have had a dream start to their season so far. Five matches, four wins, one draw and ZERO goals conceded. The BFC defence led by goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu should be proud of this achievement. They are at the top of the table with a one point lead over Jamshedpur FC. The Blues are the only side to remain unbeaten and to not concede a goal so far in the season.

Kerala Blasters are on a four-match unbeaten run after losing their campaign opener against Punjab FC. They have since then managed two wins and two draws and are currently placed sixth in the standings.. Today, they will be up against the best team in the tournament. They have the potential to end Bengaluru FC's unbeaten run but can they do it on field. Time will tell.

4' An early booking! Danish Farooq of Kerala Blasters FC has been handed a yellow card for a bad foul. Just four minutes in the game and we already have a booking.

6' Fouls are falling in Bengaluru's favour in this game so far. Meanwhile, talking about formations, Bengaluru playing 4-4-2 and Kerala Blasters 3-5-2.

That is unbelievably poor from Pritam Kotal in the Blasters defence. He loses the ball right outside the box to Jorge Pereyra Díaz, who has to just beat the Blasters goalkeeper Som Kumar and he does it with an easy-looking lob over Kumar's head from the centre of the box. Easy goal for Bengaluru FC and it was just too sloppy from the Kerala Blasters' defence.

10' Kerala Blasters responding with proper pressure on Gurpreet Singh Sandhu. Two saves from Sandhu within a few seconds and Blasters are trying their best to equalise. The first shot needed a full-stretch dive to push the ball above the goalpost. Sandeep Singh's brilliant cross had found Jesus Jeminez who took a brilliant high shot but Sandhu uses his height to advantage and jumps at the correct time to push the ball above the goal post.

18' So, the goal from Diaz has pushed Kerala Blasters to break the ISL record for most consecutive matches without a clean sheet. This is the 17th game on the bounce where Blasters have conceded. They are trying to come back but the Bengaluru defence has been solid so far.

27' Nikhil Poojary yet again finds himself in a decent position to take a long-range shot from outside the box and he yet again firees his shot over the goal post. This time, in fact, it is way over. Some ambitious shots from Poojary tonight but off-target. This shot also came from a pass via a Kerala Blasters defender. So, the defence of the hosts is not gelling up well it seems tonight.

31' Adrian Luna goes straight towards the goal on this free kick that the Blasters got just inches outside the box but the ball sails over the goal post. Players head towards their dugouts for drinks. Bengaluru FC leading.

40' Kerala Blasters have controlled the ball. They have also made more box entries but the goalpost of Gurpreet Singh Sandhu has not been quite threatened so far in this game. The Bengaluru FC defence not letting Blasters frontline find spaces and continuously providing clearances.

43' Another good spell of pressure from Kerala Blasters but they can find only one shot on target and that too from really close to the sidelines which is easily blocked by Gurpreet Singh Sandhu.

45' Goal for Kerala Blasters!!!

The streak is broken and Kerala Blasters have found the equaliser from the spot. For the first time this season after five games and almost half of this match, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu has conceded the first goal of season. Jesus Jimenez shoots right of Sandhu who predicts it well and jumps on that side only but the ball just keeps curling away from him.

Kwame Peprah was running away with the ball and could have been in a one-on-one position with the goalkeeper before Rahul Bheke decided to put in a tackle inside the box. Referee deemed it a bad foul and booked Bheke and awarded a penalty to Blasters even though the Bengaluru FC players were not happy at the decision. The penalty has been converted and both teams had back for the break with the score tied 1-1.

Second half begins and Bengaluru FC kick off. They will go left to right now. Kerala will go the other side. The Blues conceded at the stroke of the half-time, which became the first goal against them this season. Another solid half coming up

50' Yellow card for Bengaluru FC's Nikhil Poojary. A really poor attempt to steal the ball and rightly gets a booking. And somehow, Poojary has hurt himself only through that challenge and he will have to go back now. He will not take any further part in the game because of that ugly challenge where he hit the opposition player flush on the ankle bone. Hope it is not too serious for Poojary. Lalremtluanga Fanai comes in for Poojary.

63' Jorge Pereyra Díaz, the goalscorer for Bengaluru FC, is off the pitch and Édgar Méndez who comes in as a substitute. Kerala Blasters even in this half are controlling the ball but those threats, despite staying in the attacking third of the opposition, have not come.

74' Bengaluru FC Score!!!

Another mistake from the Blasters defence and yet again they pay with a goal. Sunil Chhetri takes a free kick from the right side and lofts the ball into the box where Blasters' goalkeeper Som Kumar leaps the highest to collect the ball. The only problem is that Kumar just does not collect the bal and it falls near Edgar Mendez who slams it in an empty goal to ake Bengaluru ahead.

Kwame Peprah misses! This could have been Kerala's second equaliser of the game and Peprah has just shot this all along the ground but inches away from the near post. An incredible sprint by Peprah with the ball as he cuts into the box and beats defenders with his pace but can not provide that all-important final touch.

86' Another strong run and shot from Peprah this time from outside the box but Gurpreet stands tall and dodges the ball up in the air and makes a clean collection. Kerala Blasters have controlled the ball, have hovered around the opposition's third all through this game but have just a single goal to show for dominance.

90' Five minutes added to the contest and Kerala Blasters have showered a volley of shots on the Bengaluru FC goal post but the Blues have managed to keep the lead. It is incredible how much pressure the Bengaluru FC defence has handled tonight and yet concede just a solitary goal and that too through a penalty.

That should seal it for the Blues. Kerala Blasters created countless opportunities in some last 25 minutes and they could not convert even one. Blasters were pressing high. Everyone almost was in the Bengaluru FC half and that is when Bengaluru FC get the ball. Mohamed Salah just launches a long ball to Edger Mendez who has just the goalkeeper, Som Kumar, to beat and he does that with ease. Second goal of the night for Mendez and the third for Bengaluru FC.

Bengaluru FC beat Kerala Blasters 3-1!

Kerala Blasters were the better side and the fans at the stadium in Kochi will be utterly disappointed that all that domination was not converted into goals. The Blasters have not just lost but lost by two goals, in a game where they could have definitely scored more. But in the end this what the scorecard will show: Kerala Blasters- 1, Bengaluru FC- 3.

Bengaluru FC were up quite early as Jorge Pereyra Díaz scored his first goal of the season in the eighth minute. Kerala Blasters levelled scores via a penalty kick converted by Jesus Jimenez at the stroke of half-time. Edgar Mendez then came off the bench to score in the 74th and the 4th minute of the added time to help Bengaluru take all three points. Interestingly, the three goals which Bengaluru FC scored were their only shots on target in comparison to Kerala Blasters' six.

Bengaluru FC have extended their lead at top to four points now with the second-placed Jamshedpur FC playing tomorrow. The Blues now have five wins and a draw so far. Kerala Blasters now have two losses with two wins and a couple of draws as well. They remain at the sixth spot with eight points.
