Victories in their last three Indian Super League matches meant that Punjab FC have now secured their longest winning streak in the tournament. However, they will need to be defensively solid as they have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last six matches, highlighting their weakness. However, they will be itching to go after accumulating six points in two matches this season.

We know Punjab is playing -- the stadium is buzzing with Punjabi hits, and the atmosphere feels like a concert.

The players are walking onto the field with their escorts, and play is about to begin. And we are here done with the national anthem.

And the play begins with crowd cheering loud. The stadium is still a little empty but the enthusiasm is houseful.

Just when it looked like we were about to get an early goal, they missed -- hitting the side of the goal post. A big chance wasted. Mushaga Bakenga of Punjab FC headed it from the right side of the six-yard box after a corner kick.

In the 14th minute, Hyderabad's Leander received a yellow card for a high boot that caught PFC's Ezequiel Vidal in the face. The match is paused briefly as Vidal receives medical attention for a nosebleed.

Pulga Vidal sets up wonderfully for Nihal Sudesh and he takes a long shot but Hyderabad keeper is not there to just stand, Arshdeep Singh makes a cool save.

Ezequiel Vidal of Punjab FC showcased his skill with a brilliant left-footed free kick, sending the ball to the bottom left corner of the net. AND IT IS A GOAL FOR PUNJAB.

Crucial block by Rafi here. In the 40th minute, Rafi stepped up to block Bakenga's shot, deflecting it away from the HFC goalkeeper after Pulga Vidal delivered a perfectly timed through.

45+3' Three minutes of stoppage time added while HFC are looking for a way into the Punjab box for an equaliser but are at risk of getting caught on the break.

The referee blew the half-time whistle with both teams having their chances to find the net. The first opportunity went to Bakenga, who, after a swift PFC counter-attack, couldn't keep his shot on target as he drifted too wide.

Moments later, Leander D'Cunha attempted a strike from outside the box but missed the mark, despite Rabeeh’s impressive run down the right flank that created space in the PFC area. Punjab are leading but we are ready for more.

54' Hyderabad FC fails to equalize as Chhunga's free kick from 25-30 yards hits the wall.

In the 58th minute, both PFC and HFC made tactical changes. PFC brought on Leon Augustine and Ricky Shabong, replacing Pulga Vidal and Vinit Rai. Meanwhile, Hyderabad introduced Abhijith PA and Allan de Souza, who took the places of Cy Goddard and Ayush Adhikari.

After a counter-attack, Nihal Sudeesh fires wide from outside the box, set up by Allan. This chance came after PFC's substitute, Ricky, wasted a header from a corner. His performance is proving costly for the team.

Never leave your goal post open, especially when lions are here to hunt. Filip Mrzljak doubles the lead to 2-0 with a simple tap-in into an empty net after Bakenga’s shot was blocked by goalkeeper Arshdeep Singh. Mrzljak played a key role in the goal, providing the assist for Bakenga’s initial attempt.

Hyderabad FC's defender Leander D'Cunha is shown a second yellow card for a late tackle on Ricky Shabong, leaving his team with 10 players.

Filip Mrzljak had two clear chances to score a brace in the 86th minute, but his attempt following a cut-in run from the left was blocked after he shot over the crossbar from a favorable angle.

The referee blows the full-time whistle, and Punjab FC climb to the top of the table with their third consecutive win. What a remarkable turnaround for Punjab FC after a tough debut season! Meanwhile, Hyderabad FC continues to sit at the bottom.

Punjab FC will next take on Bengaluru FC at the Kanteerava Stadium on October 18, while Hyderabad FC will face off against Chennaiyin at the GMC Balayogi Stadium in Hyderabad on October 1.
