Javed Miandad And Dawood Ibrahim: Former Pakistan Cricketer Speaks On Relative's Health, House Arrest Rumours

Former Pakistan cricketer Javed Miandad has refused to elaborate on the rumours circulating about mafia kingpin Dawood Ibrahim's poisoning and potential death. Reports emerged earlier in the week that Ibrahim had been the subject of a poisoning bid in Karachi, his current residence, and was under intensive care amid tight security at a local hospital. Some even speculated that the mastermind behind the Mumbai attack in 1993 had passed away - rumours that are yet to be confirmed or denied. (Cricket News)

Speaking to the media, Miandad, whose son is married to Ibrahim's daughter, refused to elaborate on the reports, leaving the task to the Pakistan Government instead. 

"I will not say anything on the news about Dawood. Whatever has to be said will be told by the Pakistan government," he said in an interview with ABP News. 

As for rumours of his house arrest, the cricketing legend simply had this to say: "The news about my house arrest is wrong."

An ICC Cricket Hall-of-Fame inductee, Miandad is, perhaps, the most synonymous name to the country's cricketing triumphs. A brilliant batter, Miandad also led the nation to their only ODI World Cup win in 1992 and was later involved in various positions in the Pakistan Cricket Board.
