ONE Championship has unveiled the blistering bout card for ONE Friday Fights 26 in Asia primetime on July 21.
There are 10 exciting Muay Thai battles lined up for the latest weekly installment at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, as well as a pair of MMA contests to kick off the proceedings.
The main event is an epic Muay Thai clash between two decorated greats of the game.
Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai is a two-division Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion and a former Sports Writers of Thailand Fighter of the Year.
Known as “Left Meteorite,” the 24-year-old is one of the biggest punchers in the bantamweight Muay Thai division and owns victories over a who’s who of his contemporaries, including Sangmanee PK Saenchai, Muangthai PK Saenchai, and Seksan Or Kwanmuang.
Opposite him will be Rafi Bohic, one of the most celebrated non-Thais in the sport’s history.
Bohic is an eight-time Muay Thai World Champion, which includes his WMC and WBC golds. He’s also one of an elite group of foreigners to win the Lumpinee belt.
The Frenchman made his long-awaited ONE debut with a win over Tapaokaew Singha Mawynn in April, and he knows another strong showing would put him among the bantamweight division’s top-ranked contenders.
Just before that headliner is another massive bantamweight Muay Thai battle between Suakim Sor Jor Thongprajin and Kirill Khomutov.
Suakim has won Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Titles in three divisions and is coming out of retirement to face the tough Russian striker.
The rest of the card is littered with big names in the Muay Thai ranks.
Those include Road to ONE Thailand winner Dedduanglek Tded99 against Japanese phenom Taiki Naito and Rajadamnern Stadium Muay Thai World Champion Rambo Mor Rattanabandit against Uzbek striker Mavlud Tupiev.
First up, the MMA curtain-raisers look set to open the show in style.
Thai sensation Nat “Wondergirl” Jaroonsak returns for her second MMA outing against Australia’s Lisa Kyriacou, who rides a six-bout winning streak into the contest, and Kiwi-Filipino veteran Mark Abelardo returns against Russia’s Dmitriy Babkin at bantamweight.
