China and Korea are placed third and fourth on the points table with three and two points, respectively. However, both teams will be eager to take all points on offer. We are five minutes away from the first quarter.
And we are almost underway at the Moqi Training Base in Hulunbuir. This should be a cracking encounter with the home side playing against a hungry Korean line-up looking for their first win of the tournament.
The officials blow the whistle, and we're off in the first quarter. Korea have a circle penetration early in the first quarter, and well, they do have a penalry corner as well!
Korea earn three penalty corners in very quick time, but have failed to convert. It has been a very attacking start to the first quarter from the Koreans. However, it remains 0-0 at the moment.
This time around, it is China who win a penalty corner, and the hosts too, fail to put the ball on the back of the net. It has been an exciting first half, despite no goals being scored, and promising to be a thrilling game.
The hosts are ahead at the Moqi Training Base, and Jiesheng Gao puts one between the sticks, late in the first quarter. This should give the hosts a bit of confidence going into the break! 1-0 China!
The second quarter starts off just as how the first one started. It has been aggressive, end-to-end hockey, with both the teams penetrating each others' circles four times thus far.
The Koreans equalise, and it was a long time coming with their attacking approach. Hyeonhong Kim converts Korea's fifth penalty corner and we are all level with nine minutes to go in the second quarter.
That's the second quarter done. It remains 1-1 after the first half of play. However, the Koreans are dominating and dictating play - registering nine circle penetrations. While on the other hand, the Chinese have held firm and have not been blown away. Great character!
We are almost ready to start the third quarter of the match. The first two have been super exciting and the same is expected from the next two with both teams playing attacking hockey.
The match is being played on a very high level, however, the penalty corner conversion has been bang average. Both teams put together have earned a total of nine PCs, but have managed to score just two.
We continue to stay level after the third quarter, and going into the last 15 minutes, it could be anyone's game to take. Can the hosts take the lead and the match? Or will the regional heavyweights prove their steel in the fourth quarter?
The match remains on the edge with just ten minutes to go. Both teams have been looking to score but have not been clinical enough. Credit to the back line. However, can they hold it off to see the teams through?
And Korea have the lead with seven minutes to go. Joy for Korea, heartache for China as JungHoo Kim converts a penalty corner. However, there's a good amount of time for the hosts to get back into the game.
And is that the match? It is never over till the final whistle but Korea now have a two-goal advantage. After JungHoo Kim, it is now Jihun Yang who scores another penalty corner. Korea comfortably ahead now.
China get one back, but looks like too little, too late for the hosts. Ziyang Huang scores with just 48 seconds on the clock. Can they somehow find one more to level it and share points?
And that's the game, and what a game it was. Korea finally register their first win of the tournament, and it has come against the hosts, and will now jump above China on the points table.
Thank you so much for joining us. We will catch you soon, and until then, take care and goodbye!
