Some of Indian cricket's finest stars couldn't hold back their sorrow and grieved after missing out on cricket's ultimate reward. Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj was seen crying after the match on the ground and Jasprit Bumrah can be seen consoling him. KL Rahul was down on his knees after Glenn Maxell hit the winning runs for Australia.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma was trying hard to control his tears. He put up a strong, sporting front as he shook hands with every member of the other team and praised his teammates, but after the dust cleared, he walked softly back into the dugout with moist eyes. Virat Kohli was also seen hiding his face with his cap after he was going back to the pavilion.
Indian players gave their all on the field. They were the only team to be unbeaten throughout the tournament but stumbled in the finals. Travis Head played the best knock of his career in the finals and scored 137 runs in just 120 balls. Chasing India's 241-run target, Australia were once struggling at 47/3 but Travis Head stitched a 192-run partnership with Marnus Labuschagne (58 runs off 110 balls) to help Australia win their 6th title.
