Six-wicket hauls from the indian pace duo of Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah helped India register a historic seven-wicket win over the Proteas in the second Test on Thursday in Cape Town. Day 2 started with Bumrah's spell dismantling the home team for 176 despite Aiden Markram's heroic 106. Chasing a below-par score of 79, Yashavi Jaiswal's 28 set-up a brilliant win despite losing three wickets. India levelled the two-match series 1-1 and have won for the first time at Cape Town in 13 years. Apart from this, this match also became the shortest Test match in the history of cricket.. Rohit Sharma: A great feet. In Centurion, we had to learn from the mistakes. We came back very well, especially our bowlers. Had some plans and the boys got rewarded. We applied ourselves, we batted well to get a 100-run lead, not pleasing to see the last six wickets. We knew that it's going to be a short game, we knew ever run matters, to get that lead was very important.

It's my best figures in Test career. I tried to be consistent and hit the right areas. I wasn't consistent in the previous match and that's why we leaked a lot of runs. Worked hard on consistency and tried to be relentless with my lengths. When we play together, he (Bumrah) gets the message earlier. We try to analyse the wicket quicker. Dean Elgar: A tough one for us. Pretty positive coming into this game. India bowled fantastically and used the conditions. Still a lot of positives for the young players that we have within the side. 2-0 would have been really nice, still managed 1-1, proud of the boys. The way the bowlers bowled in the series and the way Aiden batted in the second innings is something out of the world. (On the pitch) It was a bit of a ripper. Naked eye, it looked like it's going to be a nice one. It played totally different to what everyone thought. We were on the receiving end, big learning curve for us. If you ask Rohit, he'd have batted first. They just out-skilled us in that first session.

5:09 PM: IND Beat RSA By 7 Wickets

And that's a memorable win for Team India at Cape Town! India register their first win at Newlands with a 7-wicket win despite losing the toss. Bowling first, Mohammed Siraj's dream-spell of 6/15 set it up for the visitors as they bundled out the Proteas for 55. In reply, India were bowled out for 153 but not before handing out an important 98-run lead. Aiden Markam did score an important century but Indian bowlers were too good on the day as they bowled out the hosts for 173 in their second innings before the Indian batters completed the formality.

Team India began the run-chase of 79 in explosive fashion as Yashasvi Jaiswal's 28 brought them ever so closer. The southpaw fell to Nandre Burger trying to hook but could not get the follow-through. Rohit Sharma was joined by Shubman Gill at the crease as India neared the target and are inching towards a series-levelling win.

Jasprit Bumrah was called to dismiss the last pair that was adding valuable runs for South Africa and Bumrah broke the partnership and got his sixth wicket of the inning as well. Ngidi was caught by Jaiswal in the slips to finish the Proteas inning.

Aiden Markram hit a commendable ton to provide South Africa with a lead of above 60 runs from where they were once struggling for runs. Markram added 51 runs with Kagiso Rabda and changed the gears to make quick runs. He targeted Prasidh Krishna and hit boundaries in almost every over. Finally, Siraj removed him after he completed the fifth-fastest Test century for South Africa in just 99 balls.

Jasprit Bumrah has ripped South Africa's batting lineup since the start of the second day's play in Newlands. He first dismissed David Bedingham, then removed Kyle Verreyne by getting him caught out by Mohammed Siraj. Marco Jansen looked in fine touch. He smashed a four on the fourth delivery of the 24th over, but Bumrah caught and bowled him on the next delivery. Aiden Markram has completed his half-century and is eyeing for taking South Africa forward.

1:40 PM: Bumrah Gets Bedingham!
Jasprit Bumrah started the second day's play as David Bedingham was on the strike with Aiden Markram on the non-striker's end. The second delivery went for a boundary after taking an edge. Bumrah kept bowling in the same areas and finally got an edge and ball went into the gloves of keeper KL Rahul.

12:15 PM: Day 1 Recap
The retiring Dean Elgar, South Africa's stand-in skipper for this Test, won the toss and chose to bat first. The decision backfired spectacularly, as Mohammed Siraj and Co rolled the Proteas over for a measly 55. Siraj took a career-best six wickets in an uninterrupted nine-over-long spell. 

The Indian innings got off to a much better start, and the visitors were sitting pretty at 153/4, with Virat Kohli at the crease on 46, before mayhem ensued and the entire lower half was wiped out with no trouble to the scorers. Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi and Nandre Burger bagged three wickets each on a treacherous Newlands pitch.

The Proteas walked out to bat for the second time in the day and were reduced to 62/3 - new-look seamer Mukesh Kumar the enforcer - before stumps were called to a truly astonishing day of Test cricket.
