India posted a massive 429 runs in their first innings after electing to bat first. Indian batters scored fifties including Deepti's 113-ball 67. Moreover, the hosts pulled things in their favour as they bundled out Heather Knight's England for a paltry 136, handing a massive lead of 292 runs. Deepti turned up with the ball as well as she scalped 5/7 in England's first innings.
The only other instance wherein a India women's player achieved this feat was way back in 1985, by Shubangi Kulkarni. She scored 79 with the bat and picked up 6/99 in a drawn Test match against New Zealand.
India women's team lost the T20I series 2-1 to England in Mumbai and are currently in action in the one-off Test match. Once the English series concludes, Harmanpreet Kaur and the girls will turn their attention to Australia starting from December 21.
