India's Tour of South Africa 2023-24: Head Coach Rahul Dravid And Team Withdraws From IND vs RSA ODI Series, Replacements Named

India National Cricket Team will be without head coach Rahul Dravid and his coaching team for the three-game ODI series for their tour of South Africa 2023-24. Dravid will instead monitor the inter-squad preparation Test, with Sitanshu Kotak and Co overseeing the regular ODI squad

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has confirmed that regular Indian Cricket Team head coach Rahul Dravid - and his coaching staff - will relinquish their coaching responsibilities for the upcoming three-game One Day Internationals series in India's Tour of South Africa 2023-24. Instead, Dravid and Co will focus on the inter-squad preparation Test, underlining the significance the board is placing on the two-game Test series. (Cricket News)

"Team India (Senior Men) Head Coach Rahul Dravid, Batting Coach Vikram Rathour, Bowling Coach Paras Mhambrey and Fielding Coach T. Dilip will link up with the Test squad and oversee their preparations for the inter-squad game and the Test series," a statement by BCCI said.

India will also be without Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, after both withdrew from white ball formats of the game for the series. Deepak Chahar will miss the series due to family concerns, while Shreyas Iyer will drop out of the squad after the first match to join the Test squad instead.

Instead of the usual faces in the dugout, the KL Rahul-led Indian team will be coached by the trio of Sitanshu Kotak, Rajib Datta, and Ajay Ratra. The coaching trifecta usually oversees India 'A' but will be promoted interimly to guide team India in their quest to claim the ODI bouts.

Here is India's ODI squad for their tour of South Africa 2023-24:

KL Rahul (captain, wk), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sai Sudharsan, Tilak Varma, Rajat Patidar, Rinku Singh, Shreyas Iyer, Sanju Samson (wk), Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mukesh Kumar, Avesh Khan, Arshdeep Singh, Akash Deep (rep Deepak Chahar).
