With Hardik Pandya nursing an injury, batter Suryakumar Yadav makes way for the injured all-rounder whereas Shardul Thakur has been dropped for Mohammed Shami in the Indian playing XI. Speaking at the toss, skipper Rohit Sharma said, "We'll bowl first. No reason, we were here training yesterday and felt a bit of dew comes in. Looks like a good pitch, we'll back ourselves to chase. Quite important to keep the momentum going, forget what happened in the past. Need to be at it all the time. This is one place everyone wants to come and play, beautiful weather and nice stadium. Hardik isn't available, so does Shardul. We've got Shami and Surya."
New Zealand have gone with the same team that beat Afghanistan.
Both the teams are currently unbeaten in the tournament coming into this fixture. The Rohit Sharma-led side come into this contest on the back of a thrashing against Bangladesh by seven wickets while the Blackcaps beat Afghanistan by 149 runs.
