Birthday boy Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja played key roles for India in thrashing South Africa by 243 runs in match 37 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Kohli scored an unbeaten 101 on his 35th birthday as India registered a massive 326 for five in their fifty overs. Key contributions from Rohit Sharma (40) and Shreyas Iyer (77) were also vital in India achieving the big total. In reply, Proteas collapsed right from the word go. Ravindra Jadeja's 5/33 ensured there was no way back for the Proteas who were bundled out for 83.
