After losing four wickets in the first four overs, Sri Lanka's dismal time at the crease continued as Mohammed Shami send back Charith Asalanka and Dushan Hemantha in consecutive deliveries. The Islanders are on the verge of being dismissed cheaply.

Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj scalped wickets in the first four overs of the game as Sri Lanka's top-order disintegrated. Chasing a mammoth 358, the Islanders needed a fast start but the Indian pace attack had other ideas. Siraj's early wickets against Sri Lanka sent everyone back to Asia Cup 2023, when his 6/21 dismissed the Islanders for 50 in the final.
