Barely 24 hours after being stunned by Pakistan, the Indian team brought their campaign back on track defeating hosts Bangladesh by 59 runs in a round-robin encounter of the ongoing Women’s Asia Cup 2022 in Sylhet on Saturday. Batting first, Shafali Verma (55) and Smriti Mandhana (47) gave India a solid start putting on 96 runs for the opening wicket. Bangladesh crawled back into the game with a flurry of wickets restricting India to 159/6. In reply, Bangladesh have themselves to blame for wasting too many balls in the chase. Fargana Hoque, Murshida Khatun and Nigar Sultana all got starts but failed to make it big. For India, Shafali Verma and Deepti Sharma picked up two wickets apiece. Get IND-W vs BAN-W highlights.
