Hardik Pandya, Sam Curran React To Japanese Baseball Star Shohei Ohtani's Big Money-Move To Los Angeles Dodgers - Read Cricketers Convo

With Shohei Ohtani's mega-money deal making the headlines the worldover, the likes of Hardik Pandya and Sam Curran were seen discussing the deal on Instagram

Seems likes Shohei Ohtani's deal is the flavour of the month as the Japanese star's 10-year deal that includes a whopping $700 million contract, is surely a 'one of a kind' deal that might never be replicated ever again in sports. Despite a huge chunk of the 'moolah' being deferred, Ohtani will still earn a lot at the later stage and his contract value is at an all-time high, overtaking the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. And it seems that Indian cricket star Hardik Pandya has become envious of Ohtani's mega-money move in baseball. Despite the popularity of the Indian Premier League the worldover, Ohtani's contract sees him earn quite a lot as compared to the cricketers.

IPL has it's fair share of popularity and is by far the highest-paying frachise league in sport and has generated income more than that of a MLB game. However, the difference in value of INR and USD, players receive their contracts at a lesser value than the MLB players.

That is why MLB India's Instagram page put out a 'parody' post with the highest-earning IPL players coversing over Ohtani's mega-money move in MLB.

The post sees the likes of Hardik Pandya, Sam Curran and Cameron Green chatting over Japanese baseball star's mega move to LA Dodgers.

Shohei Ohtani's Contract Compared To Hardik Pandya and Other IPL Stars

LA Dodgers' newest recruit Shohei Ohtani's annual average value, as per his contract, stands at $70 million. It's almost 39 times more than that of Hardik Pandya's ₹15 crore ($1.8 million) contract that he recently signed with Mumbai Indians from Gujarat Titans. Moreover, even the likes of Sam Curran's ₹ 18.5 crore ($2.26 million) and Cameron Green's ₹17.5 crore ($2.14 million) are no match Ohtani's mega money value.
