Visit to Haryana's Mokhra and Balali, the protesting wrestlers' villages tell us stories of dedication, conviction and traditions. Wrestling and sports is a way of life and beyond, that shape socio-economic and political dynamics in these regions. Young students of all genders train and sweat it out at the Akharas and training centres. These spaces have evolved gradually over generations to accommodate women and girls. The children and adolescents are trained physically and mentally not only inside but also outside the wrestling rings of the Akharas, thus reflecting upon their performances and commitment to sport. From a young age, they are disciplined to follow their coaches and Gurus, and commit to a bout.
